From what I understand there used to be a few locations of Slice, but this one on St. Charles Ave. is the only one now.
We decided to start off with the BBQ Shrimp Appetizer, then have the Cheese Ravioli, Spaghetti and Meatballs, and a slice of the White Pizza and the Meat Lovers Pizza. I love the fact that you can order all their pizzas (Except The Eat Fit pizza) by the slice. Hmmmm, maybe that’s why the place is named Slice!
The BBQ Shrimp came out pretty quick. I mentioned that for a reason. The dish was described as “a dozen gulf shrimp sauteed in our famous Louisiana hot sauce lemon herb reduction”. The shrimp were small but this was a delicious dish. I actually rather small, peeled shrimp, instead of larger ones I’d have to peel myself and slow down my eating! It was served with a crusty piece of warm, French bread perfect for sopping up the sauce. I see they have a BBQ Shrimp Po-Boy on the menu. I’d love to come back and try that.
My dining partner has a recurring alarm set on her phone that goes off every night at 8:00 PM. It went off right after we ordered, which is the only reason I know we ordered right at 8:00PM. So then the wait began. We waited, and waited, and waited for the rest of our food. At 8:38PM our waiter stopped by our table and apologized for the long wait. A short time later a second waitress stopped by and also apologized, saying sometimes they get backed up with deliveries. So you’re going to neglect people sitting in the restaurant for the sake of someone sitting at home? That doesn’t make sense to me.
Anyway, we were about to tell them just bring us the bill for what we already ate and leave, when the food came out. My favorite was the ravioli. It was delicious. The meatball and spaghetti were also very good, as was the pizza. Their pizzas have a really thin and very crispy crust, which I like.
I told our waiter this was our first time there and asked if the wait is normally this long. I was expecting him to say “no”, but he said yes, that happens quite often. He said besides deliveries, they also cater to Uber Eats and WAITR. He was a really nice guy and took the pizza slices off our bill because of the long wait.
Do I recommend the place? Well, that’s up to you. Will the service be quick? Will it suck? Who knows? But all of the food was delicious.

We use to go to the one on magazine & loved it. But the long wait is not good. I use to like the gravy there. Maybe I will give it a try when i have 6 hours to eat. 🤣🍕

Yeah. Even if the place is empty and they’re busy delivering you could have a long wait.
