Warbucks, New Orleans, LA Report #174

Glad I found this place.  The food is great!  We started off with the Laquered Pork Belly and Shrimp Rings.

The Laquered Pork Belly was honestly one of the best things I have EVER eaten!  Delicious, tender pork belly wrapped in lettuce leave with very thinly sliced peppers (it’s not too spicy) and a few other things.  Like pork belly tacos with lettuce as the shell.  These are a must try if you come here.

The Shrimp Rings are like onion rings, but made with minced shrimp and I have no idea what else.  Very tasty, served with a great cocktail sauce.  Another fantastic appetizer.

Both of our entrees were very good.  The Blackened Scallion Rice & Chicken was served with a thin slice of fried chicken skin, like a very thin piece of chicken crackling.  The chicken was very tender and flavorful.

The Black Pepper Pappardelle contained a very generous portion of shredded, tender lamb.  Delicious.

For dessert we had the Ice Cream Sandwich.  A couple of crushed praline cookies with brown butter ice cream sandwiched in the middle.  Pretty good, and very rich.

Our waitress could have been more attentive, but everything else was great.  I can’t wait to get back to try a couple dishes.  Namely the Smoked Octopus & Red Beans and Roasted Tripletail.  I highly recommend this place!

Was a great place, sadly, it’s gone for good.
