Our last meal in West Palm Beach, Florida. After great pizza last night at City Pizza, we decided on Mexican food tonight. Pretty disappointing. The atmosphere and extensive bar menu, along with the Margarita towers, gave me the impression this was more of a drinking place than an eating place. The food backed that up.
We started out with three appetizers:
The Cabo Queso was just terrible. No way to sugar coat it. We got it with ground meat in it. Imagine opening a can of Cabo Queso Campbell’s Chunky Soup (if there was such a thing), pouring into a bowl, and microwaving it. Actually, that might have been better than this. We took one taste and sent it back.
The nachos and Mexican Street Corn were pretty good. Nothing to brag about.
Next, we had:
And the food:
I had the Grilled Steak and Shrimp. That was pretty good! The steak had a great flavor and the shrimp were grilled nicely. The rice was a little undercooked though (had a little crunch to it). The rest of the dishes were just “ok” at best. I tried the enchiladas. Not much flavor but a lot of cheese.
We didn’t have dessert here because we had to get to Rita’s for some frozen custard one last time!
Again, if you’re looking for a place with a nice atmosphere to slam back a few drinks, I recommend it. I’m not familiar with the area, but food wise, I’m sure there’s better Mexican grub.
