If you want plain and simple, no frills, delicious New Orleans food, this is the place for you! I haven’t been here in years. This is the kind of place when you get back, you wonder why you stayed away so long!
We decided on:
And the food!
Notice the rustic table. I like that!
Last time we were here we had the onions rings, and loved them. But you can get onion rings every where. So we got the Crab & Corn Beignets. They were fantastic! More of a fritter than a beignet. Full of crabmeat.
When I first saw the jambalaya I thought I’d be disappointed. I don’t like a really tomatoey jambalaya, and that’s what it looked like. It wasn’t! Kind of tomato based but very light, with chicken, sausage and shrimp. Very good!
My dining partner had one of the Friday specials. The Shrimp & Mushroom Fettuccini. She added fried shrimp to it. She loved it! Very good.
I had the Veal Parmesan. Utterly delicious. Nice sized portion too!
Finally, I had to try the bread pudding. Even though I had a King Cake at home from Antoine’s Bakery at home, if the bread pudding was good here, I’d have to give them my highest recommendation!
First off, the bread pudding wasn’t pretty. I could care less about that. It had raisins in it, but not many, and walnuts, which was a nice surprise! Very good! The rum sauce was awesome, and they didn’t skimp on it!
Great place. I highly recommend it!
