Lula Restaurant Distillery, New Orleans, LA Report #281

I’ll be so glad when this Coranavirus has run it’s course and I can go sit down in a restaurant again!  Until then, restaurants need our support more than ever.  And of course, I still need to eat!

This place is right on St. Charles Ave., but for some reason I’ve never noticed it.  Hoshun, which I’ve eaten at several times, is right across the street.  I was in the mood for a burger.  I heard they had good ones so I figured I’d give them a try.

We decided on:

And the food!

Ordering and pick up couldn’t have been easier.  We ordered over the phone and paid by credit card.  When I arrived at the place I parked right in front, called them, and they brought my order out to the car.  All I had to do was put my window down to grab the goodies.  No receipt to sign or anything.

We didn’t care for the Boudin Egg Rolls.  The boudin inside tasted like it wasn’t seasoned at all.  Very bland.

The Crawfish Queso was great!  Other places skimp on the amount of crawfish in it, since they’re so pricy.  They didn’t here.  It was full of crawfish meat.

On the other hand, shrimp are relatively cheap.  For the price we felt like they could have put more shrimp on the Garlic Butter Shrimp entrée.  My dining partner who ordered it also said the sauce was a little too tangy.  But overall, she said it was “Ok”.

The burger and the chicken sandwich were very good.  I’d definitely recommend them if you come here for pickup!

And an added bonus,,,,

They give you a free bottle of hand sanitizer with each order.  That’s like gold these days!
