This is the last weekend of the 2020 COOLinary season, and I’ve done everything I can to enjoy it to the fullest! I’ve heard good things about this place for a long time, so we decided to have our last COOLinary dinner here.
Nice looking restaurant. I love the dining room we sat in with the bare brick walls. And there are wine bottles all over the place. I took a picture of the wine list which you may be able to read if you enlarge it. I really just took it to show how extensive it was. And tonight all their wines were 50% off.
My dining partner went with the COOLinary menu, but I decided to order off the regular menu. She ordered the soup, which was corn and crab bisque, the Gulf Shrimp Linguini and the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding.
I went with the BBQ Gulf Shrimp Bruschetta as an appetizer, and then I had a tough decision to make. I was torn between the Crawfish and Louisiana Blue Crab Capri, and the Veal Louisiana Blue Crab Piccata. I finally went with the veal.
AND THE FOOD!!
First the bread. Right after our waiter introduced himself, he put a plate on the table, poured some olive oil on it, added some fresh ground black pepper, then spooned on some grated Parmesan cheese, as a dipping sauce for our bread. Very nice!
My dining partner loved her corn and crab bisque and shrimp linguini. She said the soup was full of crabmeat, and the wilted spinach and smoked tomatoes went great with the linguini.
The BBQ Shrimp Bruschetta was very good. The creamy, pepper butter sauce was outstanding!
My veal was utterly delicious. Unbelievably tender. The Angel Hair pasta was cooked perfectly, and the lemony, buttery sauce was pretty light. Perfect for the dish.
The bread pudding was pretty good. Nothing really stood out about it. We both thought the portion size was a little small.
Great dinner. And I’ll be back to try that crawfish and crab pasta!
