This is a beautiful little place, which you can easily see used to be a house. We would have dined on the front porch if the weather had been nicer. The owners started out with a food truck. I know a few people who were regular patrons, and they all said the food was great. So today we decided to try their restaurant.
We decided on:
And the food!!
The Shrimp & Cheese Rolls were delicious. Large shrimp which were butterflied, stuffed with seasonings and cream cheese, and fried in what almost a tempura style batter. Served with a sweet sauce for dipping. The only problem I had with this dish was there should have been ten of them on the plate!
I learned long ago Thai chefs don’t mess around when it comes to heat. There’s another Thai place I like called Jasmine Rice, and there they ask you how spicy you want your dish on a scale of 1 to 5. 3 was the perfect number for me.
Here, our waitress told us every dish is made “mild”, and can be adjusted upwards to accommodate your spice tolerance. There were only two other options. Medium and Thai Hot. I knew better than to mess with Thai Hot. I did that once in Thailand and couldn’t eat the dish. We both went with medium.
My dining partner had the Pad Thai with shrimp and chicken, and said it was very good. But even at “medium”, it was a little too spicy for her. Even though she’s a native New Orleanian she doesn’t tolerate spicy food very well.
A favorite Vietnamese place of mine, called Tan Dinh, used to make a cashew and goat dish I loved! I was sad when they discontinued it. So when I saw the Stir Fry Cashew Nut dish on the menu I had to give it a try.
It was very good! I got it with shrimp and chicken. The sauce was great. Could have used a few more cashews though, but I’m a cashew lover.
Great place! I’ll definitely be back!
