LuLu’s Gulf Shores, Gulf Shores, AL Report #379

Above you see a couple views of the restaurant and the menu. But this complex is about a lot more than just food! Here are some other pictures from around the grounds:

An arcade, rope climbing thing, gift shop and more. In the gift shop you can even buy their hot sauces and seasonings, which I’ve tried. They’re pretty good!

I stopped here once years ago, before I started doing these reports. We had such a great time I swore if I ever passed back through Gulf Shores I would stop in. So here I am! Fun atmosphere, friendly people, and of course y’all know what the most important thing is to me. Good food!

We decided on:

&&&&&&&&&& THE FOOD &&&&&&&&&&

The last time we were here I had that Crab Melt. I was praying it was still on the menu. It was! So simple and so delicious. Plenty of crabmeat, cheese, and a couple other things, spread over French bread and toasted. I could have made a meal out of just this. You have to try this if you stop here.

The soup and onion rings were both very good.

When we ordered the Big Fry Seafood Platter for two, our waiter warned us that was a lot of food. We get that a lot. We got it anyway. The pictures don’t do it justice. You’d have to be two really big, hungry people to finish this thing! I don’t know how many fried crab claws were on it, but there were plenty. In fact, the only thing I know for sure the number of was the fish filet. There was one. A big, delicious one. I asked the waiter what kind of fish it was and he said Corvina, which I had never heard of. So I looked it up and it’s another name for what I call a Croaker. A popular fish among fishermen in Louisiana, but one you never see in restaurants in New Orleans.

No idea how many shrimp or oysters were on the plate, but I ate as many as I wanted and never ran out! Everything was fried perfectly. And I loved how they gave us each a bowl of coleslaw and plenty of cocktail, tarter and a brown mustard sauce on a different plate.

I couldn’t recommend this place any higher. Do yourself a favor and stop on in!
