Bistro Orleans, Metairie, LA Report #404

A friend told me this place was good. I decided to come to see if she was right. She was!

Nice looking place. As soon as you walk in the door you’ll see the oyster bar. I noticed there were some fresh shucked raw oysters sitting on ice right up to the edge of the bar. If unlike me, you come here with a dining partner willing to create a diversion, while they do you could grab a few and suck them down right off the shell!

Anyway, we decided on:

%%%%%%%%%% the food %%%%%%%%%%

I could be the pickiest critic in the world and find nothing to complain about with this food.

The Eggplant Pontchartrain was awesome. Hot crisp eggplant medallions covered with a delicious crabby cream sauce.

My dining partner had the Crabcake Pasta and had them add fried crawfish tails on top. She loved it!

I had the BBQ Shrimp pasta Almandine. The picture doesn’t do it justice. This dish was loaded with shrimp! And the spicy, buttery, bbq shrimp sauce was great with the pasta. The crab balls weren’t loaded with crabmeat, but there was enough in there to give it a good crab flavor. And in my opinion enough for the price of the dish.

Fantastic dinner here tonight. I highly reccomend this place!
