The Sunflower Bakery & Cafe, Galveston, TX Report #472

This was my last meal in Galveston before we headed back to New Orleans. My Texas friend also recommended this place, so we decided to hit it for breakfast before we hit the road.

Besides being a restaurant, it’s also a bakery with a lot of really good looking baked goods. I couldn’t believe it when I saw those slices of pecan pie dipped in chocolate! They also sell products like soups, nut butters and more, and carry a locally brewed beer.

We decided on:

((((( THE FOOD )))))

Chicken & Biscuits
Texas Crab Cakes & Eggs

Everything was very good! My dining partner is a chicken and waffles fan, so she went with the chicken and biscuits. She said it was utterly delicious. The white gravy was really good.

I can’t get enough crab. So even though I had a ton at Gaido’s last night, I went with the crab cakes and eggs. Excellent dish.

We split a pancake. It had those crisp edges that I love. Finished off our breakfast perfectly.

All I wanted to do after this breakfast was go to sleep, but the long drive back to New Orleans awaited. At least my last meal in Galveston was a good one!
